Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee it is our great pleasure to invite you to join the 16th Biennial Meeting of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS 2016) to be held from October 29-31, 2016 in the historic and exciting city of Lisbon, Portugal.
Following the tradition of previous meetings, IGCS 2016 will provide you with the opportunity to learn about the latest clinical advances as well as international developments in research, practice and treatment for the holistic care of women with gynaecological cancer.
The IGCS Biennial Meeting offers a unique program that covers the latest, cutting edge information including innovative developments in surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and pathology. Translational aspects will be updated and indicate visionary developments. The Meeting will also discuss the psycho-social, socio-economic and sexual aspects of gynecological cancer care, as well as palliative and end of life care. Clinical trial updates and unanswered problems will be highlighted within this program. This Meeting is multi-disciplinary and draws on expertise from throughout the world.
An international faculty of world-class experts in gynecological oncology is developing a scientific program that will cover a broad range of topics. We will focus on presenting state-of-the-art lectures and the newest research on relevant topics. A special focus will be given to interactive sessions that give us the opportunity to exchange ideas, form new and maintain existing friendships.
Lisbon is a historic capital, a potpourri of unusual character and charm, where 800 years of cultural influences mingle with modern trends and life styles creating spectacular contrasts. Lisbon is a colorful and vibrant destination. Renowned for its warm and sunny disposition, the city is blessed with a wealth of historic monuments, world-class museums, and a host of other fabulous visitor attractions. You can explore the narrow streets of the old quarter, stroll the riverbank promenade, or wander through verdant parks and gardens. Let you accompany by the sound of Fado which also sings about love, the longing for those who have left, the sea, the misfortunes of life, and refers many times to the lives of fishermen and sailors.
We very much look forward to your participation in IGCS 2016 and to welcoming you to Lisbon.
Sincerely,
Prof. Richard Barakat
